Люди помогите че делать? вот у меня ошибка такая:

Therefore the old password from your last installation is still needed to connect to the server. In this case please select skip now re-run the Configuration Wizard from the start menu.

Судя по сообщению у вас на машине работает FireWall, который закрывает 3306 порт, через который клиенты устанавливает соединение с MySQL-сервером.

А как его отключить и где?

А у вас что за операционная система?

Windows XP SP 2

В панели управления выберите "Центр обеспеченья безопасности" - что там?

брандмауэр - отключен
автоматические обновления - отключены
и защита от вирусов - включен

А вы откуда соединяетесь с MySQL-сервером (из php-кода, консольного клиента mysql, phpMyAdmin)?

У меня таже пробема... тоже всё отключено...
Соединяюсь и из скриптов и из дополнительных прог (MySQL Administrator и Mysql Query Browser)... те же бока...

А MySQL сервер запущен? Т.е. в диспетчере задач висит процесс mysqld-nt.exe?
